Welcome to The Colour Bug

We are social business, celebrating African colours, fabrics and its people.
We curate, design and create unique one-of-its-kind clothing, accessories, home decor
and other lifestyle products that are bound to spark joy.
Our collection is bold, colourful, ethically designed and often handmade.
Our makers comprise of several inspiring and talented African & Australian women.
We have a direct trade relationship with our makers, that is intended to create
sustainable income and skilled employment in their communities.

Our little shopfront in Newcastle offers unique cross-cultural connectedness and an opportunity
to experience, first-hand, the colours and vibrancy of the African fabrics

I am a traveller by nature, an accountant by profession, and an artist at heart. It was in 2018 when I found my creative soul when I founded this project. I am an Indian-born Australian but I spent half of my life living in Kenya & Tanzania, and falling in love with all these fabrics. And now I can finally share it with all of you.
